Dipping My Toes into the Water(color)...

I bought my watercolor supplies last Sunday, and have been playing around with them. First impression? YECHHHH! After a few days? Maybe I'm in love. They act a bit like the Prismacolor markers that I'm used to, but they are very forgiving. They are a bit like stippling, in that you work VERY gradually. They are NOT like acrylics, uh-uh, nope, not at all. I am showing you my first two watercolor attempts. I didn't like all the busy brushwork on the first one. Plus, I didn't take care with my pencil sketch, so the proportions rot. The second one I'm still working on.

It looks like you're off to a really good start with you watercolors. I'm glad you got over the that first difficult experience. They're endlessly fascinating, challenging and fun. I like your childrens book illustration too. Great composition! Your class sounds like fun.
