Just as tall, his eyes meet mine,
love reflecting back.
love reflecting back.
My baby is a teenager! He had his belated birthday party this weekend - five friends, paintball and pizza. He had already had his family celebration, but we stuck candles in the pizza again for fun. He is an awesome young man. I love you, "Beau" !

what a heartfelt reflection...welcome to ODB..so glad you've joined us!
(i'll be thinking of your haiku all day because i'll never get that Simon & Garfunkel song outta my head!)
Happy birthday. :) Beautiful tribute.
I got myself one of those last year. Sadly mine towers over me so I can't see anything reflected in her eyes :-)
Your son is already a bit older, but your post reminded me of a book you may enjoy called Preparing Him for the Other Woman by Sheri Rose Shepherd. It's about raising a loving, respectable son, and I'm sure they're never too old for that. check it out~
Well, happy birthday! And that birthday cake pizza looks yummy!
A milestone birthday, to be sure!
Sweet ku. I remember when a boy I'd raised as my own could look me straight in the eye standing. Goosebumps ... and love :-)
What a great occasion to record in haiku. Perfect for "reflection."
Wonderful! Will your talents never cease? This poem is especially meaningful for me because my oldest boys (twins) are going to turn 13 this Saturday. Thanks for lighting the way! xox
Pizza birthday cakes and birthday haiku - great combination. I love that photshop effect on the photo too.
