What I've Been Up To...

Just an update to show you that I have been busy being creative on the homefront. (I have something else to share, but can't until a certain person who reads my blog has her birthday!) This is my newly repainted front door. It's NOT done! I asked Mr. Home Depot to mix me up some "Luscious" dark red for the door, and this is what he gave me - the exact shade of Pepto-Bismol! I had him remix the paint, but we kept the tinted primer, since it won't show anyhow. So hubby has entitled it his "self-image test" or "It's a Girl!" We hope to get the real red on it today, if the weather clears back up!

Otherwise, we got the living room painting done and I bought our new area rug, "Hudson Apple Butter" at the 'po last night (you know you're a home-owner when you give Home Depot a nickname). I love it! It has so many rich colors in it, and it ties together the cream leather furniture, the teal carpet and the purple walls. It's really hard to show the dark purple on the wall, you'll have to see it in person to appreciate it! The last photo is my $10 farmers' market bouquet, divided up to decorate the whole mantle.

The rug is great! It has a very "mod" look to it...and wonderful colors like leaves and moss and berries.

i think i have that same front door. not the color, but the design. my husband hates it, wants to get a newfangled door, but i love the op-art-ness of it.
