Illustration Friday - "Clean"
This week's theme for Illustration Friday is "Clean" (wow, what a swell topic! Whoever suggested this one? Hee hee! ;) which is one of the frequent topics of conversation in our house. "I need some CLEAN socks!" "Is my wrestling t-shirt CLEAN yet?" "Is this stuff in the laundry basket dirty or CLEAN?" Usually there is a mountain of clean laundry on the guest bed where you are welcome to forage for your needs.
When it gets high enough we call it "Mount St. Laundry" and have a "Laundry Party" to break it down and put it away. So if you hear, "It's time for a big party today, isn't it? Want to come?" you really should run in the opposite direction!!
Drawn with Micron black pen in my sketchbook.
Now you get two for the price of one! This one is Prismacolor marker on vellum.

I'm amazed how my laundry piles up, and I don't even have kids! This is an excellent pen and ink pointillist rendering! Wonderful job on the folds of the clothing and shadows. It was a good topic suggestion, wish I'd had time and energy for something new.
Can you imagine that I'm still hand washing the clothes three times a day for the family of four. I only dry the laundry in washing machine and I always think that water is very precious and not to waste it.
Your post sounds familiar. Just a few details change; soccer for wrestling, laundry room counter for guest bed.
Wonderful illustration. How long does it take to finish one of these? Obviously takes patience.
8^)
Mount St. Laundry, very familar. Great drawing.
I feel like i'm forever doing laundry, and there's only two of us! And my son wonders why I groan when he comes for a visit and brings baskets of laundry... I love this! The drawing is excellent, and the story is just as good. Mount St. Laundry...hah! Well done!
really beautiful! who ever thought I would say that about Laundry?
not sure who made the suggestion for the theme clean this week do U lol was ready to comment on ur b/w and see now u threw mw a curve and put a color version up too. mmmmm. really like the pencil pointalizm one best cause so few ppl work in that style and i know just how hard it is to pull off effectively. and u did it wonderfully! now this is not to take away from the great color one u did either bur be honest with urself, which one u most happy with in accomplishing?
Nice.
And thanks for reminding me I need to do laundry. ;-)
awesome!! I thought it was a photo - great texture and beautiful shading!!!
now thats a small laundry pile compared to my endless one!!
I have a confession. I actually like doing laundry. This has got to be the nicest laundry I have ever seen. I don't know who suggested this topic but it was a good one ;o)
