Today I had the opportunity to spend some time with a well-known Northwest artist, Jennifer Bowman. She was the poster artist for the 2004 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and also the 2004 Edmonds Arts Festival. She was kind enough to accept my bribe (chocolates from Nama's!) and let me see her studio and pick her brain about painting and selling and businessy stuff. She has been getting ready for an artists' studio tour that she is participating in for the first time, so she has been hanging and labeling big, beautiful bold artwork all over her house.
jIt was great to see another artist's space, especially another one who works in acrylics and uses the same sorts of materials as me. It was very kind of her to share with a newbie painter aquaintance!
