I never CAN make the same thing twice! I had some pieces of the sushi prints left over, so I made myself a purse too, but I wanted more capacity, so I added sides and a bottom, and a flap to close it. The gusset strip was made of blocks modeled after the "Treehouse" pattern of irregular strips in The Modern Quilt Workshop (I saw it on Dioramarama!) I definately like the roominess, but I think I could improve the flap: it's kind of folding when the purse is full and heavy. I moved the straps to the side because of the flap.

pretty! did you use interfacing in the flap? there's some kind of super-strong and sturdy stuff i found at my local quilting/fabric store, but can't think of what it's called.
something else you can try (i've used this in purse bottoms to provide support) is that plastic grid stuff that folks use for some type of cross-stitch needlework. Oh, plastic canvas, that's what it is.
I adore this bag! And so want one.
